Community Fair
Saturday, November 29, 6pm to 9pm at Shere Hall
Free wine/beer and canapes
Every village has its heartbeat. It’s in the Christmas lights, the open gardens, the sports teams, the lunches for older residents, the great facilities that bring us all together.
But none of these things just “happen.” They’re kept alive by people – volunteers – who give their time quietly, behind the scenes.
And right now, that heartbeat is faltering.
Across our village, long-serving committee members and charity helpers are stepping down. Some are moving away, others are simply retiring after years of service. Yet fewer new faces are stepping up to take their place. Without fresh hands and energy, the danger is very real: clubs fold, events stop, charities close their doors.
Do we want to live in a place where the lights go out – not just at Christmas, but on the very things that make this village feel like home?
We’re holding a special community event to represent our village groups and charities – and how you can help.
Whether you can give an hour a month, or a morning here and there, your contribution matters more than you think.
So please, come along, bring your friends, spread the word and see what there is for you and hopefully sign up as a volunteer.
Help keep our village alive and thriving – for us, and for the generations to come.
Are you a society, charity, group, team that would like to be represented at the fair?

Testimonials
Shere Village Hall is a wonderful place. I use it to run my photography workshops, and it’s easy to book, it's well kept and well managed. Thank you to Claire for making the booking process easy and to the team who keep the hall clean and well kept.

I have been using the hall for many years and it is lovely that it has had a great refurbishment. The booking system and invoicing is all very easy. The hall itself is a great space with a good heating system in Winter and nice and cool in Summer. I don’t use the kitchen but I know it has great equipment. The toilets are always clean. We are lucky to have such a great hall that can rented for a variety of uses in our Village.
